Show to Honor East/West Grads Serving in Military and Local Veterans

The event is presented by the Cherry Hill Education Foundation, an all-volunteer, non-profit organization dedicated to raising funds to support innovative educational initiatives for students in the Cherry Hill Public Schools. Now in its 11th year, the show is the Foundation’s signature fundraising event.

In keeping with the patriotic theme of the 2018 show, the Foundation will be honoring local Armed Services veterans, as well as East and West graduates from the past nine years who are currently serving in the military. The Foundation has also invited two Gold Star Families. The West Air Force JROTC will be presenting the colors at the start of the show and will serve as ushers for the evening.

He is returning for his 11th year as director and brings Broadway-caliber production values to the Cherry Hill West stage. The show will feature live music from the Cherry Hill East Jazz Band and Symphony Orchestra Strings, under the direction of Tim Keleher.

Serving as Master of Ceremonies for the 2018 show will be Greg Gagliardi, an English and journalism teacher at Cherry Hill East. An experienced stand-up comedian, Mr. Gagliardi brings a special brand of humor to his emceeing duties. He danced in the first show in 2008 and has emceed every show since then.

Since late 2007, the Foundation has raised more than $1,200,000 in grant funding and donations to support educational programming throughout the Cherry Hill School District.  Grant requests are submitted each year by teachers and administrators. Funded grants have ranged from Smart boards, iPads, Chromebooks, and other technology requests to books for classroom and school libraries to climbing walls and outdoor playground equipment.

The Foundation has supported more than 360 grant requests and also provides annual support for the district’s Academic Recognition Banquet, Project Graduation, and Freshmen Orientation events.
